A Hampton's Transformation - PART ONE

A Hampton’s Transformation - PART ONE

If you ask anyone what their favourite style of interior design is, most will say 'Hamptons Style'. This style of home takes it's inspiration from a string of stunning homes and communities in the north of New York State on eastern Long Island's South Fork. The Hampton’s is known for it’s long stretch of pristine beaches and an interior of farmland, towns and villages. Homes are scattered throughout the Hamptons with 18th-century shingle buildings, gorgeous estates hidden behind tall boxwood hedges and beachfront homes with panoramic ocean views.

The typical Hampton’s style home boasts white feature double hung windows with calming white, grey and beige palettes throughout, showcasing luxurious textures and, of course, the iconic decorative weatherboard paneling on the exterior. This style of home is popular throughout Australia and oozes luxury and sophistication. Let us go on a renovation journey where we transformed and styled an outdated, 90’s brick home into a luxury Hampton’s retreat.

The Exterior Transformation

The exterior of the house was a dated, red brick 90’s facade. We transformed this home into a stunning Hampton’s ranch style by transforming the exterior, windows and roofing

Rather than removing the brickwork, weatherboard panels were installed on the exterior cladding. As well as being a part of the Hampton's style that we were looking for, they are also an affordable and versatile building material. Full of texture and charm.

Weatherboards - painted in Gull Grey

Featuring double hung windows with iconic white trim

The old windows were removed  and full sized, double hung windows were installed and painted in the iconic stark white that is the Hampton’s style. On the exterior we used 'Gull Grey' paint and refinished the roof .

A gorgeous wrap around front porch was added and allows the home owners to sit outside and take in the views. The front garden was landscaped featuring old red brick retaining walls, Magnolia Teddy Bear Trees and manicured Hebe hedges.
